The Merry Heart

If adults could just be merry
With a child's simple faith,
Many of life's problems
Would just simply be erased.

But life can wear a person down,
And cause him to feel old;
Though the heart keeps beating,
It grows increasingly cold.

Happily, the simplest things
Halt this calmity:
Belief in God's loving grace...
Following Christ faithfully.

By abiding in the Spirit,
And loving others as himself,
One most certainly will then find,
The merry heart is his to keep-
And share with others of like kind.
