...I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly...
And you hath he quickened,
who were dead in trespasses and sins.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead
dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead
shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit
that dwelleth in you.
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with Him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by
the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death,
we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection...
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin
might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead
is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also
live with Him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death
hath no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once:
but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves
to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should
obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members
as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves
unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members
as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have
dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
...Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are
covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are
in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
...I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge
of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in Him,
not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is
through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith...
...That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable
unto His death; If by any means I might attain unto the
resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained,
either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may
apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto
those things which are before, I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth
all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life
from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender
mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that
thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar
in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish
in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the Lord is upright:
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
