(Good) Works
(as it is used in this verse) means,

Deeds, acts, labor, work.
Moral duties,
or external performances
(such as good behavior
or good deeds done).
...For by grace are ye saved
through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Not of works,
lest any man should boast...

Ephesians 2:8-9
Thou believest that there is
one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works
is dead?
James
2:19-20

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say
he have faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead,
being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast
faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew
thee my faith by my works.

James
2:14-18

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:14

Dead Works
are those works "proceeding from corrupt nature, not from spiritual life or a gracious principle."

Webster's
1828
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name,
that will I do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name,
I will do it.

John 14:12-14
